£920,000 Innovate UK grant secured
Ecospray, in conjunction with partners Target Set Technology and the University of East Anglia, has been successful in securing a grant of almost £1 million from the UK’s innovation agency, Innovate UK’s Agri-Tech Catalyst Industrial Research Awards to develop new application methods for NEMguard, our garlic-derived nematicide.
With an increasing number of chemical pesticides under threat of being banned, we’re committed to ensuring our own environmentally benign solution, NEMguard, has the highest possible efficacy.
This grant will fund a three-year project to establish side-ridge injection technologies to enable localised under-soil delivery of NEMguard. There will be a specific focus on tackling the prominent potato pest, potato cyst nematode (PCN), enabling farmers to safely and sustainably achieve high yielding and high quality potato crops.
Innovate UK is the new name for the Technology Strategy Board – the UK’s innovation agency. Taking a new idea to market is a challenge. Innovate UK funds, supports and connects innovative businesses through a unique mix of people and programmes to accelerate sustainable economic growth.
